show control connections-history

show control connections-history—Display information about control plane connection attempts initiated by the local device.

Command Syntax

show control connections-history [index] [detail
show control connections-history connection-parameter [detail

Options

None
List the history of connections and connection attempts by this Viptela device.
Detailed Output
detail
List detailed connection history information, which includes transmit and receive statistics.
Specific Connection Parameter
connection-parameter
List the connection history only for those items match the connection parameter. connection-parameter can be one of the following: domain-id, peer-type, private-ip, private-port, public-ip, public-port, site-id, and system-ip. These values corresponds to the column headers in the output of the show control connections-history command.
Specific History Item
index
List the connection history only for the specific item in the history list.

Output Fields

Field

Explanation

Downtime

Date and time at which the state changed.

State

Last known state of the control plane connection:

connect—When a vSmart connection attempt fails, the state is connect, and the time in the Downtime field shows when the connection failed. The state indicates that the vEdge-vSmart connection could not be completed and so the connection attempt ended and the connection failed. This can occur when a vBond connection is successful, but a vSmart connection is not. This cause of this could be certificate mismatch, or there could be no default route to the vSmart controller due perhaps to NAT problems or a strange topology.

tear_down—When a vBond connection is terminated after orchestration completes, the state is tear_down, and the Downtime field shows the time at which the orchestration completed and the vBond-vEdge connection was torn down.
When an administrator brings down a vSmart connection (for example, by shutting down the interface to the vSmart controller or by change the vdaemon configuration), the state is tear_down, and the Downtime field shows the time at which the connection ended and the state changed.

up—When a vSmart connection goes down, the state is up (the connection's last state) and the time in the Downtime field shows when a connection that was up was dropped or went down.

The remaining fields are self-explanatory.

Example Output

vSmart# show control connections-history
